- Assist with daily activities to help clients stay independent and in their own homes.
- Provide assistance with personal care.
- Assist with mobility, transfers and range of motion exercises.
- Handle meal planning, preparation and feeding.
- Properly manage household needs.
- Provide companionship and respite services for the family.
- Personal Support Worker: 1-3 years
- Dementia, Alzheimer's care:1-2 year (preferred)
- Provide social interaction
- Assist with day-to-day activities such as light housekeeping, meals, and laundry
- Accompany clients to doctor appointments
- Remind clients to take medication as prescribed
- Document activities that occur on each shift
- Provide care for clients living with Alzheimer’s/Dementia
- Practice safe transferring and ambulating when assisting our clients
- Monitors for signs of failure/complications and report to our Nursing Team
- Provide a safe environment for our clients to decrease fall risks
- Work alongside other PSW staffed by our team and/or staffed by retirement communities
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of a PSW
- Understand Senior’s Bill of Rights for Retirement Communities and Home Care Agencies
- Practice good ethics and professionalism in all shifts
- Attend mandatory orientation and training seminars provided by ComForCare North York
- PSW Certification
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Police Clearance for Vulnerable Sector
- 2 Professional References
- Eligible to work in Canada with no restrictions
- Proof of full vaccination
- Able to work 4-12 hour shifts from 8:30am to 8:30pm
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention Certificate
- Food Handler’s Certificate
- Experience in Retirement Communities, and Long-term Care Facilities
- Driver’s License (G2/G) and available vehicle
- Availabilities for weekend care, and overnight
